There are songs for every occasion- like ‘Jaimala,’ ‘Phere,’ ‘Mehendi,’ ‘Bidaai’ to compliment the ceremony.
Remakes of folk songs like ‘Bano teri aankhiya surmedani,’ ‘Tu kyo nahi laya re sone ki tagdi,’ are sung by professional singers at weddings. With the coming up of DJs and disco songs, these songs can brighten up the wedding. The youngsters groove to these songs. Even adults cannot resist the foot-tapping wedding chartbusters. One cannot imagine an Indian wedding without these songs that creates an atmosphere of love and affection and make every one dance to each others tune.
